Modem on COM3 not found

Hi,
I’ve just downloaded and installed the base packages for QNX. Unfortunately
I dont have a ser3 option to choose for my modem card which is a PCI card
assigned to COM3 (under Win98 this is!).

Any idea how to get QNX to find my modem on com3 as I need to download more
tools and have become unstuck.

Cheers
Jim

If your modem is a “WinModem” (meaning it doesn’t contain an 8250 compatible
UART but instead relies on the Windoze driver to do the DSP work) then the
answer is you can’t use the modem with QNX. Since these WindModems are the
defacto crap that PC makers have foist upon the public, there’s a 95% chance
you’re screwed (hey, but you saved $40 or something like that!).
