"Unable to mount /dev/cd0 as /fs/cd" during Install...

First I’d appreciate if you all replied via e-mail if possible, I really do
not frequent this newsgroup. And TIA!

I’m unable to install QNX RTP 6.1.0 onto fairly standard hardware, EIDE/IDE
based CD/DVD-ROM drive, Tekram DC-390U2W SCSI controller (Symbios/NCR
chipset). The OS loads fine off CD and runs fine in DEMO mode off CD no
hiccups, but if I try to install it to the HDD which is on the SCSI
controller I get past the partitioning & boot loader selection only to have
it barf out just after that when it “reloads and restarts drivers” – in
verbose mode it shows the detection of the SCSI chain, but nothing about
IDE, then it complains as above in the subject it can’t get ahold of
/dev/cd0.

What in the devil is going on here? IT boots off the CD fine, it runs off
the CD fine, there are no known issues with the system (runs
Free/Net/OpenBSD in production, runs Linux fine too).

My desktop it refuses to do anything (tend to hardlock at odd places, but
this thing is known to have a bit of drain bamage )

Any clues?
