Installation problem

Hi,

I’ve downloaded the QNX cd image and copied to a CDRW.
Then, I tried to install QNX on a seperate partition but I
didn’t succeded it. I have the following configuration:
-ASUS P5A-B
-AMD K6-3 400MHz
-256MB
-Matrox G400
-Adaptec 2940U
-SCSI devices:
HD: IBM DCAS-34330 (4.3GB)
HD: IBM DCAS-32160 (2.1GB)
CD: PIONEER DR-U03S
CDR: PHILIPS CDD3600
HD: IBM DCAS-34330W (4.3GB)
-IDE devices:
HD: IBM IBM-DJNA-371800 (18GB)

All devices are actually supported, as I read. I start the installation
by booting from the PHILIPS CDD3600, and I get the following:
-Press ESC for altboot…
-Use SPAE BAR…
and then I get the following message:
-Unable to allocate resource: Resource temporarily unavailable
then I continue with the installation by choosing partition and so on.
After I have to choose the CD 1 or CD 0 for the installation,
I get the following:
-Restarting driver and mounting filesystems
-Unable to mount /cd//boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs as /qnxbase
Here stops the installation.

Could someone tell me, what’s wrong ?
I would be grateful for some tips!

Kind Regards

Hi,

If you wish to install QNX into IDE drive the answer is at this newgroup thread “SCSI CD
Installation” created 01Nov01.
I’ve seen the message “Unable to mount /cd//boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs as /qnxbase” once. In my case it
was when I improperly burn CD. I guess I chose wrong file system in nero - that CD has uppercase
file names and strange file name extensions under /repository (.001, .002 or something like). To
solve problem I rewrote the CD from the same image file  by the same nero program (maybe I was
more attentive the second time)

Bests,
Eduard.
