Qnx Linux Win2K boot

Hi all,

I made up a system with QNX,Linux and Windows 2K. I have two disk, one
primary 7Gb where I installed Win2K and one secondary of 40G where I
installed QNX in the first 10G and Linux in the next partition. Im actually
using qnx boot loader. I have no problems in booting Win and qnx but when I
try to boot linux (I press F2 and then I choose partition 2) system hangs.
My bios is dated dec 99, qnx should boot with no problems after 1024
cylinders, but I dont know why linux doesn t boot at all. Now the only
option is to boot linux using boot disk.

Which loader should I use as default loader? Win, qnx or Lilo loader? Anyone
could point me to some good document about qnx loader? Thank you for the
help and sorry for the elementary questions

Did you install Lilo as the loader inside the first 512 bytes of the Linux
partition? Basicly, it should go :

POST → QNX primary loader (jumping to linux partition), Lilo → linux
kernel.

Cheers,
Adam

You are free to use any loader which you’d like
Take a look at http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm if you’d like to use ntldr,
NB! You’ll have to install LILO into linux partition (not mbr) in this case too.

Eduard.

Thanks Eduard for the reference. I may experiment this solution, but I guess
it s a Lilo problem.
Now Im using QNX loader and it works fine with Windows and QNX, but when I
try to boot linux it hangs,
even if the lilo is installed into the linux partition (hdd5 - after 1024
cylinder).

If Im not wrong QNX loader jumps correctly at the linux active partition and
then lilo does not work
properly. I dont think the problem is that lilo is installed after 1024
cylinder because QNX jumps correctly
(I suppose) in the Linux partition, and my BIOS should support jumps over
1024 cyl (BIOS date 11/99).

Again thanks for your help
