Mouse problem

Good day,

Does anyone know about how to use the file (a
driver)http://developers/qnx.com/Fixes/Software/devi-hirun to enable a
logitech mouse working with the QNX Realtime platform (installed on desktop
PC. The mouse connecting port uses a normal serial port com1)?

Thanks a lot.

Joy

I don’t know if this helps…
but I have a Logitech USB wheel mouse. Loaded it using devu-uhci and devu-mouse
The strange thing is in devi-hirun if I configure it as Logitech (msys) it
doesn’t work but instead if I configure it as Microsoft (msoft), it works great!!

Only prob is the wheel doesn’t work (I tried the -i switch, no luck). Also the
option is greyed out in the mouse config.
Anyone’s got their wheels working??

Hello Joy,

To use this fixed devi-hirun you simply overwrite your current
devi-hirun. To find the location of the file you can use
‘which -laf devi-hirun’
You should make a backup of your old file before you overwrite it with
the new one.

Regards,
Dave B.

Thanks David B. and Santosh Patil for your help. But first I am not able to
access the QNX file system yet (as all my input controllers are not working
to allow me open any xterm for the command). How should I do the overwriten
driver file?

Thanks.

Hello David, yes I get to the option selection memu (after choosing the “QNX
RTP OS” at the OSs loading prompt, and hold on the booting by hitting the
space bar), and tried a few options (like after mounting the FS). Still I am
not able to give the command, i.e. cannot run ‘which -laf devi-hirun’. Not
sure what option I should select, and what the procedures to follow at this
point. I have little experience on this, any detail info is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello Joy,

Don’t boot into Photon. You can select an option if you hit the space
bar when prompted at boot time to not start Photon. This should allow
you to make a backup of your old devi-hirun and then overwrite it with
the new one.

Dave B.
