I need some server software ... and some help :-)

Hi,

I’m looking for these software for Qnx 6 (i prefer simple-to-use software,
but a bit powerful  and already compiled for qnx) :

  • a webserver
  • a ftp server
  • a mail server
  • a ssh server or something else for remote control (but easy to configure
    and to use )
  • a soft to share my internet connection (adsl) under my local network with
local pcs under windows (98, 2k, XP)
  • a soft to share files under the network but the other pcs are under
windows (sambar ? but i don’t know how to use it… and if there is a port
    for qnx)
  • a soft that reconnect to internet
  • and if you can explain me how to have these software lauching
automatically at the startup… i think it’s easy to do… but i’m new under
qnx and i don’t have many experiences under unix

Thanks for any help !! (and sorry for my bad english :frowning:)

First, it’s good to look on som community sites (since qnxstart.com is now

dead, try www.qnxzone.com, and www.qnx.org.ru), and on ported soft on QSSL
pages.

  • a webserver
    Apache, Tiny httpd, Boa.
  • a ftp server
    PureFTP, Proftpd.
  • a mail server
    Sendmail, already included in distribution.

  • a ssh server or something else for remote control (but easy to configure
    and to use >> )
SSH, ported by qnx and others.

  • a soft to share my internet connection (adsl) under my local network
    with
local pcs under windows (98, 2k, XP)
Squid proxy, or (if you have 2 network cards in 1 PC) configure QNX as

router maybe with NAT.

  • a soft to share files under the network but the other pcs are under
windows (sambar ? but i don’t know how to use it… and if there is a port
    for qnx)
yeah, bunch of version had been ported.

  • a soft that reconnect to internet
    ??? Dial on demand ???
  • and if you can explain me how to have these software lauching
automatically at the startup… i think it’s easy to do… but i’m new

Well, in startup scripts, generally (you must create the file if it won’t

exist) /etc/rc.d/rc.local

Thanks for any help !! (and sorry for my bad english > :frowning:> )

Is there any downloadable QNX6.1 binary/source that allow
me to install QNX on an Apple PowerPC machine?

Or any other PowerPC CPU platform like SandpointX3?

No

Or any other PowerPC CPU platform like SandpointX3?

You can’t install directly on PowerPC, you have to treat them as
embedded devices.

The development tools are only available for x86.

The current download of 6.1.0A includes support for PowerPC. However, it
is not a “self hosted” environment. That said - if you have a sandpoint
you could probably get a self-hosted environment running with a little
bit of time as nearly all the parts you need for self-hosted are included
in the download, just not packaged in a “self hosted” way. You would
have to cross-build a version of gcc and the like based on the sources
on our website. Not a trival thing at all - but do-able.
