Fresh install cannot find mouse

I’ve got a weird problem with an install of QNX 6.1.

I downloaded the demo floppy (modem version), and then ran that on the
computer. Worked like a charm. So then I decided to go full board and
install the whole os from scratch. Here’s what I have:

HP Vectra/VE 5/90 (basically a P90)
64 MB ram
540 MB HD
Pioneer CD
PS/2 Mouse

Everything works fine, except the mouse. The install goes smoothly and then
when it comes the part where the machine is booting for the first time, and
I’m given the system resolution configuration screen, it cannot find the
mouse. What’s weird is that it worked fine for the demo, so my guess is
that something is going wrong with the install.

Any ideas?

There is a fixed devi-hirun found in the fixes section of the
http://developers.qnx.com site. This addresses some problems with mice
and may fix your problem.

Okay, I’m finally getting back to this mouse thing. I downloaded devi-hirun
and did a ‘which -laf devi-hirun’ and it couldn’t find it, so where should I
put it?

Oh, and I did a “find / -name ‘devi-*’ | less” but that didn’t display any
devi-hirun stuff either.

Thanks,

Dave M

Hi David,

Make sure you put devi-hirun in /usr/photon/bin

E.
