I cant find /usr/bin/portmap and /usr/sbin/Nfsd in 6.2NC. They were in the 6.2 betas.

6.2beta?
was it ferrari, bmw, or jaguar? I believe
ferrari → NC
bwm → SE
jaguar → PE

It was in bmw 6.2.0. I didnt check ferrari and I never got a jaguar . However I cant imagine it
was
intentionally left out of NC because it was in 6.1.0, and it is in the NC docs.

I don’t know about your specific case, but don’t use the docs to determine
what’s in each edition. The individual books are the same for the different
editions. SE and PE include some booksets that aren’t in NC, but (for
example) the Utilities Reference is the same in all three and includes some
stuff that isn’t in NC.

I realize this might be a nuisance, but we simply don’t have the resources
to maintain three distinct sets of documentation.

It is not a ‘nuissance’, it is major confusion. You don’t need 3 distinct
sets, just a little ‘finger’ at the top of man page saying which versions
does it apply to. Or at least a summary table with list of stuff excluded
from SE and NC.

That’s our plan, but we haven’t had the time to implement it yet.

I have not yet tried to install 6.2.

What is the distinction between NC, SE and PE?

Hi Steve,

There is no description of the NC package.
