Mouse problem

I just installed 6.2 NC. It goes into photon but I don’t have a mouse
pointer.

inputtrap does not find my mouse (it’s on /dev/ser2).

I did create a /etc/config/trap/input.my_hostname and put in the following
two lines.
kbd kb
msoft -R fd -d/dev/ser2
(I also tried it without the -R)

This trap file is not being executed. When I look at devi-hirun it only
shows the keyboard. But if I manually load a pterm and type devi-hirun
msoft -R fd -d/dev/ser2 all work well, with a mouse. At least until I exit
photon and try to re-enter it. Then I have to re-run devi-hirun.

I think that’s because the real input trap file should be
located in /etc/system/trap. /etc/config/trap is a decoy.

Andrew

You right. I put it in /etc/config/trap because that’s what the usage

message for inputtrap said. What the hell was I thinking?

Someone at QSSL might want to change the usage message for inputtrap.

Also, there is still the issue about why it didn’t auto-detect the mouse in
the first place. I mean, I’m happy. I have a mouse and I don’t have to
hand type devi-hirun every time I go into photon (I was actually getting
pretty good at it). But if QSSL wants me to do any other testing to figure
out why it wasn’t auto detected I’ll be happy to help.

Well, now my keyboard isn’t working.
