I stopped every peice of software that uses TCP/IP - same problem.
I then stopped every unnecessary service that uses TCP/IP - same problem.
This particular problem is between the server daemon and the vendor
daemon.
It shouldn’t have anything to do with the proxy. We had another client
having the same problem last week. They solved their problem by
uninstalling their VPN software and a different piece of software that
also
used FLEXlm. Can you check for any running software that may be using
TCP/IP in some way? Also, what is your installation history with
Momentics?
Did you have a prior install or FLEXlm setup?
Thanks Larry… but no change…
When I run the qnxlmattach, I get a dialog box that tells me “Your
application was not able to obtain a license because the FLEXlm license
manager counld not determine where to find the licensing data it needs”.
I
then choose either “Specify the License Server” or “Specify the License
File”, which both results in:
checkout failed: Cannot connect to license server
…
FLEXlm error: -15,570. System Error: 10038 “WinSock: Specified socket
is
invalid”
Any other thoughts?

Try going through the “Configuring the proxy service
on your host” steps again ( page 7 - 8 ). I had the same error and
fixed
it
by following the instructions on those pages again.

Make sure you had all the other lmgrds and qnxlms stopped before you
tried
starting it again.
We’ll have to talk to Globetrotter and get back to you.
Jeff,
It definitely looks better. No repeated qnxlm starting…
however,
it

If
so,
what?

Thanks again,

For the record… I’m not using any firewall, Windows IIS

We have seen this behaviour in rare cases. We are
currently
talking
to
Globetrotter (The makers of FLEXlm) to find a
resolution.
They’ve
suggested
that it could be related to firewall software (or other
port
blocking/using
software) preventing lmgrd and qnxlm from communicating
properly.
- Which specific version of Windows are you seeing
this
behaviour
in?
Win2K Pro.
- If you take a look in the task manager are there
multiple
copies
of
lmgrd/qnxlm running?
Multiple copies of qnxlm. Only one copy of lmgrd.
The
qnxlm’s
keep
stopping and new ones keep starting extremely fast.
Cheers,
Mike
I’m attempting to install QNX Momentics PE on a
single
Windows
machine
with
the temporary key provided on the QNX Lincense
Certificate.
I’ve
followed
each step contained in the “QNX Momentics
Profession

Installation
Note”. The following occurs:
- The QNXlm License Proxy is running.
- The FLEXlm server is configured with the
appropriate
paths

license
file.
- The FLEXlm servier is started.
- Attempting a “qcc -V” results in: “Unable to
