The smaller patches downloaded with a transfer rate of around 30K/sec.
However, on selecting the big (131Mb) IDE patch, the rate was 1K/sec if
I was lucky. It was going to take 40 hours to complete. Multiple
restarts didn’t help - in fact the transfer rate worsened.
Re download of the smaller files in the middle of this showed acceptable
rates. All over the same ADSl connection and IE5 browser connection.
I’d really like to get this patch as I’m very bogged down with problems
with the May 2002 build of the IDE that I hope are resolved. Any ideas
as to why it is so slow? Surely not due to its size…
