could not access CD-ROM repository

Hello,

I have installed QNX on my computer and i am a real beginner in this thing.
I have opended the Package installer and would like to open the CD-ROM
Repository, but that does not work (A Error message would appear: “Could not
access repository”).
Accessing a repository does only work with the internet (I just have
installed files from the internet). But i don’t want to install from the
internet.
What do I make wrong?

Thanks for any hint

Hi,

create repository directory, copy all packages into it and burn CD in ISO
9660 format (Nero burning software supports it). It should work.

cheers.

Make sure your CD-ROM drive is mounted to /fs/cd0/ and that you can view the
files in that directory (outside of the installer) first. If not, check the
helpviewer for details on the ‘mount’ utility.

I had a similar problem. My cd wouldn’t show up after inserting it
after booting, as
requested by the installer. I had a /fs/cd0 entry, but couldn’t read
anything. I did a umount,
and then a mount, but no joy. The details in the helpviewer didn’t help,
either.
I got it to work by forcing a boot from the hard drive and having the
cd in its drive
during the boot up. It is now installing things. It will be a problem,
though, if I must
have the particular cd that I want to read in the drive at boot up time!
I will investigate further, and report back.
Ahh. I did a “umount /fs/cd0”, and then a “mount -t cd /dev/cd0
/fs/cd0”,
and now I can read the third party disk. Choosing its goodies should
keep me busy for a while.
