Installation problem on Geode Juki511P

I’m trying to install 6.2.0 on a Geode based Juke 511P single board
computer.
I’ve made the (Seagate 20GB) harddisk CHS in the BIOS setup
(As opposed to LBA).
I select F10 to force a partition install.
I’ve selected the partition to be < 8.4G, and made the partition
about 2.5GB.
The installation proceeeds up to a point when it says
Restarting driver and mounting filesystem…
Unable to mount /cd/boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs as /qnxbase
Please remove the install floppy and CD, then reboot.

I’ve also tried to install on a different system, also
using CHS, and then brought it over to this board.
It boot fine once. The seconds time the boot doesn’t
proceed past …S

What could be the problem(s)?
Thanks for any advice!

Hi Alex,

Why have you set the BIOS to CHS instead of LBA? The drive’s size will
be off.

Regards,

Erick

The ‘S’ indicates the kernel signature wasn’t found, most
likely due to “.boot” not being what/where it was expected
due to CHS/geometry issues. You have to be very careful
with disk geometries if trying to make a bootable disk on
a different system. Why can’t you use LBA? You may also
have to fully erase the partition table to delete any
erroneous geometry. You may also want to look at specifying
nobios, noptab, or geometry= options if necessary …
