I’m looking for a replacement for PCMCIA (or cardbus) for
acrdbus, both for QNX4 & QNX6. Any suggestions
for LAN and/or LAN/FAX combo?
Ideally something that will work under both.
This part someone else will have to comment on.
PS What is the support for cardbus under QNX4 lately?
I seem to remember initially it wasn’t supported,
but I think this has changed recently?
I recently got my cardbus working thanks to a new driver from Hugh
Brown. I don’t know if that driver has been publicly posted, but I
think it was publicly spoken of.
For the record, I’m using a Toshiba Staellite 2755-DVD (I think, the
sticker wore off).
Unfortunately, most of the combo ethernet/modem cards have winmodems, which
we don’t support. A CardBus ethernet adapter that is supported under both
QNX4 and QNX6 is the 3Com 575 10/100 CardBus PCCard. This is what I use in
my laptop under both QNX4 and QNX6 together with a Xircom modem. Any
modem/fax card should work, provided that it is not a Winmodem.

There is an archive at developer’s corner for PCCard support under QNX4
and this (updated) driver will be released with the QNX4.25G update.
