Is there any way to download the add on packages without the package
manager? I am one of the unfortunate who has a winmodem and it would be
nice if I could get the packages some other way because I want to use RTP at
home right (no compiler). If we could download it as a file then copy it
across the dos mounted drive to RTP somewhere and then manage it using the
package manager that would be very useful. I know a lot of ppl are stuck
with these crappy modems from all the posts about them.

as far as i know, for now your cant, but i beleave that the
repository docs are being pulled together, plus the repository
packageing is being reworked to allow easyer 3rd party packageing
and presumably will allow downloading from non RTP OSs and manage these with the new package manager, in an update real soon id think, for now theres many other things to try and learn about RTP.
