Library reference ‘what is new in this release (feb/2001)’ claims there are new functions lfind and lsearch. They are indeed documented, but not present in libc.

In actual fact, they’ve been there since June.
I’ll check with development to see if they still
plan to implement these functions.

When you do that remind them to include flock() and lockf() into libc, since
they are also claimed to be available in the same release note (patch B)
