qnxbase.qfs

I noticed that / boot / fs / qnxbase.qfs on distribution
CD-ROM has file length 24.093.401 bytes.

After installation is 52.428.800 bytes (on HDD).

It means that " qnxbase.qfs " on distribution CD-ROM
is somehow compressed.

What kind of compression is used ???

Thanks
David

Hmm just a guess but could it be simply that the cd uses larger
blocks 2024 ( i think) wereas the hd (probably) has 512 blocks set.

if i remember right, the larger the blocks the better the fit
at least for large files such as above, wereas lots of smaller files
fit better with small blocks.

an easy way to see if thats right is to copy that file off
the CD to a temp dir somewere on the drive and compare the sizes.

I found it.

deflate -v -i -o /hdisk/boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs /cd/boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs
