Dear Group,
I have a few problems with phindows and others:
-when connecting phindows to an SMP machine, the latter will freeze
after a few window updates. I don’t think this is a 6.1 problem, as
I had the behaviour before that; I had tried “phrelay -noshmem” or
whatever it was, but that didn’t help. If I want to debug with ddd,
I now just reboot with procnto because with procnto-smp it’ll freeze
as soon as I start
-the keyboard and Xphoton seem to not like each other. If I use ddd,
I can’t seem to able to enter shifted characters (e.g. can’t enter
underscore, which is a pain because I can’t type the name of functions
I’d like to lookup). The target machine is set up as a US English
keyboard.
I tried the phindows machine with either US English or Canadian French
keyboard, problem is the same. I can enter them OK in native Photon
apps.
-ddd will refuse to read source files that contain accented characters
(I’m guessing any 8 bit character). That is, it’ll stop reading the file
at the first such character and show a blank screen below that. Usually,
the breakpoint I want to hit is below that
I’m now filtering all
sources after compilation to translate these characters into their plain
equivalent, then I can use ddd on them.
Are there any workarounds, parameters to set or coming fixes for any
of the above ?
Thanks,
Francois

I also remember a thread with XPhoton having problem on SMP.
Not much help , sorry about that.
