Hello,
Does anybody in the UK run QNX. I am trying to find out how it compares with other supported OS’s. Anyone who has received help with their use of QNX, especially embedded work, your comments would be useful. Because the operating system is Canadian, is the support Canadian? Embedded Linux better option? Any other suggestions welcome

Hi
I’m based in Waterlooville, Hants, UK.
I’ve been using QNX RTP (neutrino kernal) for the last 18 months - i’ve had
a few teething problems but generally its been very good. If you want a good
embedded RTOS with a small footprint it could be a good bet dependant on
your application. The good thing is its very scaleable.
My target system is a PC/104 based system which has an inhouse data
acquisition card and an off the shelf GPS card. Storage is an 8Meg
DiskOnChip.
The UK QNX office is in cambridge and they offer good support.
If you want any other info let me know.
Cheers
Jim
