critical> .diskroot not found

A strange problem happens very rarely under some systems.
After the bootstrap, qnx says:

/.diskroot not found on any filesystem.

As sayd before, happens quite rarely but HAPPENS and compromise
the reliability of some machines.

It seems to be some kind of driver problem.
The systems hangs after loading the devb-aha8 driver.
Actually I’ve only one disk under an aha-29160 controller.
Other OSs boots fine everytime (using the qnx boot manager).
Hardware is ok.
The bootimage is the orignal one.

I don’t know where actually I can look for problems…
Any ideas?

Hi,

Take one particular system that this happens on. Now does it
happen on every reboot? or does it happen evey now and then?
Also how many systems seem to be showing this behaviour?

Thanks

Erick.

It happens randomly (quite rarely) but happens on all systems
with an aic29160 adaptec controller.

Other OSs (linux) doesn’t have that problem.

My two cents: it could be a timeout while scanning the bus.
Some devices (particularly cdroms) takes many seconds to get
recognized.

Thanks

Erick.
