Sorry (and io-net stuff)

Hello All,

Sorry if I seem a little frustrated and short-tempered with my io-net
problem but I guess I have just been spoiled by QNX. I am so used to not
being able to harm the kernel or device drivers but now can kill io-net 50
to 100 times (each with a subsequent reboot required) in one day (running as
a regular user mind you, not root). I’ll work at getting more data to the
PTB since I know they are always willing to help. So bear with me if you
can hear me cussin’ (which should be possible if you are within 500 miles of
Sacramento CA).

Initial info:

  • Intel 82559 ethernet (was Intel 82557)
  • If I slow down my socket server by adding delays, it works like a champ
  • Speed it up, io-net will go bye-bye (and is awfully rude by not even
    saying “so long”)
  • I have an io-net.core file in my /var/dumps dir but it is 1.8 megabytes
(if someone wants it I’ll be happy to email, but I won’t post to the
    newsgroup)

Looking forward to a resolution. Heck I’d be happy even if I found out it
was a boneheaded error on my part that I’ve just overlooked for 5 days.

TIA,

Jim

We’re still looking at this in qnxrtp.installation.
