Network Audio (NAS) under QNX 6.0?

Hi QNX folks,
I’m working with QNX 6.0 (3com/Ergo Audrey), and I’m
interested being able to send audio across tcp/ip for playback.

My first thought was Network Audio system
(NAS http://www.radscan.com/nas.html), it has worked well in the
past for me in this application under other OSes.

I’ve poked around some but cannot find any mention of a native QNX
or ALSA based support of the NAS server.

Is anyone out there in QNX::QDN land working on NAS? Any hints
or ideas about other possible audio servers using TCP/IP.

Thanks.

Not that I’ve tried, but you might look at Icecast which should let you
stream mp3.

Since your already fooling with QNX6.0.0, you might want to look
at QNET. We have been able to use the media player internally
and play the audio on a remote system. I belive all you had to
do was create a symbolic link to the remote systems /dev/snd dir
in your /dev dir and you were off to the races.

I haven’t tried it, but I have had my fair share of ‘burp.wav’ and
‘flush’ sounds played on my system.
