I’m looking for these software for Qnx 6 (i prefer simple-to-use software,
but a bit powerful and already compiled for qnx) :
a webserver
a ftp server
a mail server
a ssh server or something else for remote control (but easy to configure
and to use )
a soft to share my internet connection (adsl) under my local network with
local pcs under windows (98, 2k, XP)
a soft to share files under the network but the other pcs are under
windows (sambar ? but i don’t know how to use it… and if there is a port
for qnx)
a soft that reconnect to internet
and if you can explain me how to have these software lauching
automatically at the startup… i think it’s easy to do… but i’m new under
qnx and i don’t have many experiences under unix

Hi,
You had asked almost all services of qnx …It will become a tutorial
section if fully answered …
But you can use …
1.slinger for webserver (Refer helpviewer for help) …It is very simple we
configured our slinger in few minutes
2.use inetd super server for ftp
3.configure sendmail for mail server …(I dont know much if you get some
info do post it)
4.We are using telnet for remote configuration …(Again Inetd super server
will do)
5.For sharing files use samba …yeah there is samba in QNX refer cifs
6.We are using pppd for serial ip connection using modem …
And there is a buildfile roadmap in web you can download that for putting
everything in one build file so that they run at startup…

For these types of questions, you may find your answers best on IRC. Feel
free to grab PhIRC and connect to irc.joher.com, and go to #qnx. Many people
log on - and you can almost always get a quick answer. Feel free to throw
your question out into the channel, and wait for a response. Sometimes
people don’t answer right away, many times we’re away from that console and
miss the question.
Log on and you’ll probably have a reasonable chance of getting some help.
