Shelf and backdrop disappearing

Any idea why this happens? Just a blank white screen instead of the default
background and no shelf. I could right click and start a terminal or
shutdown but clicking on shelf did nothing. I’m using the i810 video
driver.

Have you modified the configuration for either of those apps in any way, or
is it the stock configuration? One possible test would be to remove the
$HOME/.ph/shelf and $HOME/.ph/wm directories and restart photon to get clean
copies of the config files, and see if that helps.
