still trying to synch

Well I read more about synchronization on QNX and I recently downloaded a
ntp patch for QNX 6.0 and higher. I have come into trouble now and have 3
questions. First is ntp my only solution? Second if I have a server running
on a WinNT computer and listens for sntp could my QNX ntp communicate to it?
Lastly I start up the deamon and then when I try to call ntpdate i get the
NTP socket is in use, exiting? Is there something more I must do? I made a
config file that is the equivalent of server 0.0.0.0 and that didn’t help.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you’re well out of the realm of QNX-specific problems here. I
don’t know what it means to specify server 0.0.0.0 - I suppose that means
broadcast or something, and I have no idea whether that works. The
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~ntp/ site (very nearby for you!) lists public NTP
servers you can use, besides having all the relevant documentation. Why not
try some of those servers? The ntpq command is quite handy too, by the way.
