IBM J9 JRE QNX????!

Hi all,

I just went to download the IBM J9 stuff to check out the new Eclipse2.0,
but I can’t find it anywhere! Infact I can’t find any QNX links on IBM’s
site anymore…

Anyone know where I can download J9 (or any Java RE for that matter) for
QNX6.2?

Thanks!

[from qnxrtp.devtools] (sorry I missed it before)

In future, QNX will be responsible for distributing the j9 vm.
snip
QNX is in the process of making a J9 VM available sometime over the next
couple of months.

Whooa! Will it still be freely available?! Or only available in QNX PE?

Seems ironic that QNX has invested so heavily in the Eclipse C/C++ tools,
only to be the one platform you can’t use them on!!!

I look forward to any news on this matter!

Hi Kieran…

I think that QNX will have J9 available later (or so they said somewhere
before).

regards…

Miguel.

Hi Kieran,

try downloading WSDD 5.0 from www.embedded.oti.com.
It should include a QNX J9 2.0 for all supported processors.
You’ll need to extract the /ive directory form the product to match the
stand-alone J9 version.
If you’re interresed, I’ll tell you how.
I’m using J9 2.0 for QNX but I didn’t notive any differeces to 1.5 (ok, I
haven’t checkd everything right now).

The j9 v2.0 is quite a bit faster then v1.5 if you enable the jit in both
situations.

Thanks!

I downloaded and installed the win32 version of WSDD (only win32 & linux
versions available) but the ive/runtimes/qnx tree is empty… any
suggestions, or have they taken the qnx ive out?

Kieran.

You have to get the updates pack. If you have WSDD install on Win32 or
Linux you can also get the updates from within the IDE.
