slay to set priority

Hi,
If I ‘slay -P 15 motors_management’, I get:
setprio(1956119, 15): no such process

The process is still alive and it’s the good pid of course!

any idea?
Thanks,
Alain.

This was a bug in slay that is fixed in 6.2.1.

cheers,

Kris

This is a very common statement made by engineers; but if
you think about it, it makes little sense. If your experience
is anything like mine (in 15 years in the business) the people
most qualified to make predictions regarding scheduling of a
product are the engineers building it, and perhaps the least
qualified are the sales people (yes I know this is how the
world works, but you must agree it is illogical .

Do we have an ETA on the release of 6.2.1 yet? I’m sorry if I’ve missed
the answer to this if it’s buried in one of these NG responses (I don’t
read them all).

…and it follows that when a project goes badly the engineers get the
blame, and when it goes well everyone else takes the credit. You just can’t
win…:~)

PS After 20 years in the business I still can’t estimate how long software
projects are going to take.

Yes and if I were to say anything about any form of scheduling or release I
would get slapped from here to Kazakstan because that’s not my area and any
statements I make are strictly IMHO but, being a QNX staffer, are taken as
gospel and then sales/marketing has to explain to customers why it isn’t
released yet because, after all, Kris said that it would be…whew

You get the picture I hope?

Neither can I; but I do generally come closer than the sales guys

Wow, they’re slapping to Kazakhstan now huh ? QSSL is truly global; I
remember when they could slap past western Europe
