scsi_interpret_sense

hello,
our sloginfo, on different machines (IDE), are full of :

scsi_interpret_sense:70, sense=2, asc=3a,ascq=0
scsi_interpret_sense: ASC_MEDIA_NOT_PRESENT
scsi_interpret_sense: path=1,target=0,lun=.,cam_status=c4,scsi_status=2

Where do they come from?

Alain.

This is just an informative message that there was no media in a
drive when it was accessed (I’d guess a CD-ROM). A test here shows
this does happen if you “ls /fs/cd” with no CD inserted …

SENSE KEY: 2
NOT READY. Indicates that the logical unit addressed cannot
be accessed. Operator intervention may be required to correct
this condition.

ASC: 3a, ASCQ: 0
MEDIUM NOT PRESENT

Well John,
Maybe, is it really usefull to ‘populate’ sloginfo with that messages?
That was not the case before.

regards,
Alain.

hello,
is’s not really problem, my sloginfo show many scsi_interpret_sense messages after running
devb-eide eide vid=0x1106,did=0x571,pci=0,chnl=0 eide vid=0x1106,did=0x571,pci=0,chnl=1 blk auto=none cam quite &

where do they come from ? can I complete disable SCSI detections ?
