Ethernet HW: Davicom 9102 supported (6.2.1)?

Is the Davicom 9102 ethernet chipset supported under 6.2.1?
This is for the chipset as implented on Kontron/Jumptec boards MPS520
and MOPlcdgx1.
They have a driver here:
http://www.jumptec.de/SW_DB/DOWNLOAD/BS12/Qnx100-6-1-1.zip
This looks like a 6.1 driver, and contains source as well.
Under 6.2.1, initial tests indicate it is working as well.
(I’ve update the /etc/system/drivers/
Is there an official QNX driver as well?
Should the 6.1 version work ok under 6.2.1?
Thanks

There is no official driver, afaik. This chip appears to be yet another
lousy clone of tulip, but different enough that tulip driver does not work.
I had a motherboard with it once… was not aware of this driver. It should
be put into some easier to find place if other people need it…

Agreed
Hopefully Hugh Brown will comment…

Interesting that from comments in the source this driver appears to have
been written by someone at Davicom…
Yet, the driver is not downloadable from their website.

No, there is no official driver for this chipset. There are no adapters
AFAIK, that have the Davicom chipset, they only seem to be on embedded
systems, so we haven’t been able to write a driver for this chipset.
If somebody would be willing to send us a board with the Davicom
chipset, we will write the driver. We have the docs though!

Hehehe… once upon a time I’ve heard that. So I packed up my ATX
motherboard with this chip and sent to QNX. The board was collecting the
dust somewhere for couple months, until it was ‘discovered’. Too bad it was
discovered only couple days before Patrick was leaving for Ireland…

I am not sure if I still have that board…

This sounds attractive, as I have a possible customer interested
in my hardware if I can supply a driver.
The one supplied by Jumptec/Kontron seems to work, but
possibly one from QNX would be better.
Another option would be to cast your eye over the source
and see if anything bad sticks out…

Obviously you forgot to include a case of beer with the shipment

Hi Igor

Sorry to hear about your experience. Over the last 15 years I have 3 times
sent a completed system (sans keyboard, mouse & monitor) to QNX. Each time
they found and fixed the problem in under a week and I had the system back
in three weeks.

Ah but that was then and this is now. Still, if they offer to work on your
hardware, I’d send it.
