Hi,
i have a Mitac 8750 with a Lan card SIS 900 connected in a local lan.
When i start QNX i can ping other pc in network and can ping internet
address, but when i start voyager or mozilla the network freeze.
Can anyone help me?

I’va the 6.2.1 version. When i start the operating system i can ping other
machine in the network, when i start the browser ping don’t say anything.

What version of the O/S do you have? When you say the network freezes, can
you ping that machine from another machine? Does nicinfo show any errors

What version of the O/S do you have? When you say the network freezes, can
you ping that machine from another machine? Does nicinfo show any errors
and does the Tx or Rx count increment?

Please post the output from ‘pci -v’, ‘nicinfo’ and ‘pidin arg’.

It may be the same problem I had (see the post “sis9 network driver”).
At the end you said:
“We are waiting for the new docs from SiS on this chipset. I’m not sure how
long this is going to take, as there are NDA issues as well. Unfortunately
this is rather difficult to debug, as the hardware is integrated on the
motherboard and we don’t have one of these boards.”

Is the SiS 900 chip integrated on the motherboard or is it on a PCI
card?
Mine is integrated on the motherboard. I don’t know about Halley73 but, from
its description, I thought it was the same problem. I guess Mitac 8750 is a
laptop pc (couldn’t find anything useful on Google) and so it probably has a
SiS mobo with integrated network card (just guessing).
