netstat -a got freeze

Whenever I have phindows to connect to my Neutrino from XP, netstat -a stops
working, ie. it is frozen after displaying the header information. Is this a
known problem?

It could be trying to do a DNS lookup on your XP box. Try ‘netstat -an’.

Thanks, it works.
Shouldn’t netstat -a also work? It does not make sense -an works and -a does
not work.

If you wait, the DNS lookup will time out. You need to look
at your DNS setup. Start with /etc/resolv.conf in the
Utilities Reference.

Yes it does. “netstat -an” says to display network addresses as
numbers – the utility/stack has that info right up front, so it
just gives it to you. “netstat -a” tries to take all those IP
addresses and turn them back into hostnames, this requires DNS
work. If you are having DNS problems, then this will hang a
long time – but may eventually timeout, and display.
