Custom widgets

How do you define custom widgets with added resources in Photon 2 ?
I know you can save templates of widgets that you’ve customized or
compounded but there doesn’t seem to be any way ( other than using USER_DATA
which is very clumsy) of simply taking a widget and adding a few resources
like you could before.

There is a way to do it, but it isn’t documented yet. In Photon 1.14, there’s
a Building Custom Widgets book, which you can look at on the QNX website.
I’m told that the methods that it describes still work, but there are some
better ways under Photon 2.0.

We’ll be revising Building Custom Widgets at some point, but not in this
millennium.

I sense a great topic for an article… Do QNX staffers get $100 for
writing articles?

Thanks,
Does that mean I can carry on designing and using custom widgets in my 1.14
apps and still stand a chance of later converting them (not to painfully )
to Photon 2 ?
While I’m on the subject is there a good source of info any where on what
not to do in 1.14 if you know you will later have to upgrade ?
