ELO touchscreen support

Hi,

I’m building a RTP testing unit w/ ELO accutouch 2210 serial touchscreen.
When I run the elotouch driver “devi-elo smartset uart -i4 -p3f8 abs”, the
LED on touchscreen controller board get flash quickly, which indicate that
there are some communication error as descript in accutouch manual. When I
touch the screen, the cursor disappear.

I try to run “calib” to calibate the touchscreen, but it didn’t respone any
more, so I create the “acalib.localhost” file manually. When I load the
driver again “devi-elo -vvvvv smartset uart -i4 -p3f8 abs”, the console
messages report that the driver read the calibation file and got all the
XLow, XHigh, YLow and YHigh value, after that, when I touch the screen, some
time the cursor follow my finger but some time not, and also the click event
didn’t emmited to the objects I touch most of time.

Is there any body ever use accutouch 2210 successfully w/ RTP? Is that my
configuration error or the driver didn’t support this model?

Did you make sure the baud rate is correct (-b option to smartset) ?

I already set the controller baud rate as 9600, 8 data bits, none parity
bit, 1 stop
bit and check “use devi-elo” said that default baud rate is 9600. The
problem still
occur even I run “devi-elo smartset -b9600 uart -i4 -p3f8 abs”.

As further thing I need to take care?

Thanks for your help.

I’d try to complie and use elo driver come w/ input ddk, it correcttly
report the xy position of finger press everytime now. But the controller LED
still quickly flash, and the click event can’t been emit everytime. Any one
can help me please?

As far as I can tell, you are doing everything right. I do know that the
2210 controller can emulate other controllers (such as the accutouch), is
there any possibility you have it set to another emulation ?

Rennie

Thanks for your help, I got it work with the new driver come w/ ddk using fd
devices.
Thanks a lot.

Hey Steve,

I got a little tired of the devi-elo driver doing very similar things
to me, so I ended up going “a different route.”

I wrote a program which converts the ELO’s serial messages into PS/2
format messages, which are written to a FIFO, from which devi-hirun
reads. In effect, an ELO → PS/2 converter. Photon therefore goes
along happily thinking it has a PS/2 mouse. If it would be any help
to you, email me privately and I can send it to you. It can do its
own calibration stuff. It pretty much bypasses the whole Photon mess.
Keep in mind that the program was written in one hour and has
absolutely no support.
