How can I get shut-down and turning off the computer?

When I click on shut-down, the OS don’t close automatically and I’m not able
to turn off the computer, but only putting out the supply-plug.
How can I get an auto shut-down?
Thanks a lot.
Marco.

Marco,

Are you using a PC with a PCMCIA network card?

No, I’m not.
I’ve just a 3Com “U.S. Robotics 56K faxmodem” for the Internet connection.

Try this and see what happens…

From the shutdown menu select ‘End Photon session’.
At the Welcome dialog click on the ‘Shutdown’ button, then select ‘Exit to
text mode’.
At the command line log in as root with the password you entered during
installation.
Then enter ‘shutdown -fb’.

There are some shutdown problems that QSSL know about and this is the
current work-around.

I close the Photon session and I get the text-mode exit, but when QNX ask me
the login and then the password, I’m able to write only the login, when I
must type the password, I can’t write nothing, it seems that the keyboard
now isn’t connected…
However I got another way to turn-off the PC, holding the power-pushbutton
down for three/four seconds so I got it.
Thanks a lot again.

Hi , lol, haha, no, it is just that you can’t see what you are writing, it’s some *nix standard,
that instead of putting *** for the passwd (hey, someone can figure how many letters you have in your pass  )
It write no output, try write the pass and press enter
