phindows -s/phditto -s

I tried to start a remote service according to phditto/phrelay doc:
I’ve created a /etc/config/phrelay (I don’t really understand the
meanning of phrelay.node), with the following line:
Calc % /usr/photon/bin/phcalc

phindows/phditto work correctly to start a photon session but are unable
to start a service.

What’s wrong?

Thanks,
Alain.

Hello Alain

The problem is that the serrvices code for Phrelay hae been ported to QNX RTP yet.
There has been a bug submitted on it and a future release of Phrelay should have this
capability.

Thanks
Rodney

Dear Gui Group,

I have an urgent need for the ‘services’ functionality in Phrelay. I am
under a time crunch and it would really save me much time to use
phindows instead of learning MFC or another Windows GUI system. Do you
have a beta version of phrelay that I could test for you? I wouldn’t be
upset in the least if it didn’t work, but figure it’s worth a shot.

Thanks,
Alec Gorjestani

Hello Jiri

Can you email me with the following information:

What company do you work for?
What version of RTP are you using?
What are your plans for this services?

After I get that information, I’ll see what I can do. It’s not
only that the services code hasn’t been activated, there is a
problem with how pwm interprets the services.

Thanks
Rodney

Gui Group,

I work for the University of Minnesota, so our use of RTP is for
research. I am using RTP 6.1. I want to set up a service to run my own
photon application. The application consists of tabs, labels, buttons,
slider bars and progress bars. I think that’s it. If it helps, I don’t
need a window manager. The application is a user interface and fills
the whole screen.

Thanks,
Alec

Hello Alec

Why can’t you just use the phapps file to run your application when
you login. You put this file in your .ph directory in your home
directory.

Thanks
Rodney

Hello Rodney,

I’m not familiar with the phapps file. Is this run at login time? Will
this start my app when I log into a RTP machine through Phindows?

What I’m trying to do is have an icon on a windows laptop that when
double clicked starts up Phindows and runs my application. I don’t need
a login screen, shelf or start menu. Is there a way I can do this
without using the service feature of Phindows?

Hello Alec

I’ve tried a couple of different ways and I can’t seem to get around the login window portion. If you
look up the phapps file in the helpviewer it will explain more about how to use it and what it
does. I have submitted a bug against the window manager and the services not working.

Thanks
Rodney
