Why is PtUpDown deprecated?

I find PtUpDown to be a useful widget, while looking through the docs I
noticed
it has been deprecated in qnx 6.0 in favor of PtScrollbar.

However after studying PtScrollbar I couldn’t immediately figure out what
combination
of flags would make a PtScrollbar have the same appearance as a PtUpDown, so
I am
just continuing to use PtUpDown.

I don’t use PhAB, however I have noticed that PtUpDown is still in PhAB’s
widget palette.

Why is PtUpDown deprecated, is there a way to configure a PtScrollbar to
look the same?

Thanks,

Hello Dave

We deprecated it because we figured having two widgets ( PtUpDown, PtScrollBar )
with similar capabilities was not as desirable as having one widget with
all of the capabilities. Not to worry however, the PtUpDown widget is not
going to be removed from the library so you can continue using it. I will
submit a change request on the PtScrollBar widget so that it contains the
ability to look more like the the PtUpDown widget.

Thanks
Rodney
