want pointer focus mouse (x-mouse)

Do you know how to change the mouse to an x-mouse in Photon, where the
activation follows the mouse? i.e., so that you need only move the mouse
into a window in order to give it focus (so you can type into the window
without bringing it to the top). By default, you must click on a window in
order to give it focus. Thanks.

You want the -r option to pwm.

You can either modify the ph script, or export PHWMOPTS before running
the ph script. (This is easier to do if you login in text mode, if
you login using phlogin, I’m not sure how you’d go about doing it. But
you might trying exporting it in your .profile and see if that works.)

Or click on “Launch Menu->Configure->Appearance”

Click the Window tab

Click Cursor Focus.

Hit apply

Probably a lot easier :wink:

works great, thanks!

(I should have been trying to change the “window” rather than the “mouse”!)

Right, I was telling them how to get the X auto-raise behaviour, which
isn’t in the configure, rather than cursor-focus, which is.
