How to make a .iso image

Hello,

We want to burn a CD to use with RTP.
Problem is when we burn the CD with a Windows machine
the file names and permissions get confused:

  • a . is added to all extentionless files
  • the execute permissions are lost

A reasonable solution seems to be to create a
…iso image under RTP out of the files we want to copy.

Something like the qnxbase.iso file.

Is there a utility for that?

How would one make a .iso file suitable for
copying and burning of CD using a windows machine?

Thanks for any help!

You should be able to burn the ISO image with Adaptec’s software or
with Nero Burning ROM in Windows. You should probably ensure that
Joliet extensions are turned on in the burning software. We have
successfully burned the ISO images in Windows.

Andrew

Hi,

We found something that suits our purposes at www.cdeverywhere.com.
Are there any other such applications (that run under QNX maybe?)

Michel

“mkisofs” is the one you are looking for.

Hi

A while back you identified a program
for creating iso file system images
under QNX.

Where can I find ‘mkisofs’?

Thanks,

Here is the site:
