wireless IP anyone?

Hi…

Has any one used a wireless ethernet pcmcia card on QNX6? How about
QNX4? I am not sure what card is what in the supported hardware list.
Basically I am looking for a wireless ethernet card that works under
QNX6 and idealy under QNX 4 as well.

Thanks…

Miguel.

Look at qdn.qnx.com someone announced support for wireless
card under QNX6 (third-party) as for QNX4 you are out of luck at
this time.

Go buy Lucent Orinoco. There will be support for it in QNX6 fairly soon
and you can ask in newsgroups for QNX4 driver, there is one made by guys
from Cirrus Tech. Besides, I’ve been told that Lucent is best wlan
hardware anyway.

You could try to contact CDS (see QNX web page) for their hardware &
QNX6 driver, but I did and they still did not send me price info nor
anybody on the phone was able to tell the price. Apparently they were
not looking for individual orders

They didn’t reply to my email.
Business must be good

They replied to mine, finally. QNX6 driver is $25 (excluding ‘shipping’
whatever that means). Not a bad deal given it supports both PRISM and
ORINOCO chipsets (and there seems to be none other chips out there since
802.11b was proposed jointly by Lucent and Intersil).

They also sell hardware but it is expensive enough (granted, I did not
compare its features).
