rpms in QNX

Hi,

Is there a (hopefully quick and easy) way to port rpms from Redhat linux to
QNX neutrino 6.0?

Thanks…
Jack.

Hi,

Perhaps not what you’re looking for, but:
There’s a port of rpm3.0 at qnxstart.com, but it didnt work for me, some
required files was e.g. missing. I used instead RPM Browser for Windows
(URL below) to extract the files I needed and downloaded them to the
QNX machine.

Hi Tom,

Porting rpm didn’t work for me either. Unfortunately, I was not able to
extract library files with .so .so.1 using the rpm browser. This is the
error message I get:

*** EXTRACTION LOG for foo.rpm:

GZIP:
foo.rpm.cpio.gz: 68.3% – replaced with foo.rpm.cpio

CPIO:
C:\Program Files\RPM Browser for Windows\cpio.exe: usr/lib: Permission
denied
usr/lib
usr/lib/libfoo.la
C:\Program Files\RPM Browser for Windows\cpio.exe: usr/lib/libfoo.so.1:
unknown file type
usr/lib/libfoo.so.1
usr/lib/libfoo.so.1.0.0

Do you have any idea about how to solve this problem.

Thank you.
Jack.

I recall also getting the “permission denied” error which I think
I solved by manually selecting another folder for extraction.
