gdb 5.2.1

Anyone managed to build this for QNX6.2 yet? Are there any patches (or even
better pre-built binaries) available?

Thanks!

The next release of QNX 6 (6.2.1) will have gdb 5.2.1 included.

cheers,

Kris

is the patched source somewhere? or you will only release it after 6.2.1?

We’re still tweaking it for 6.2.1 but I can guarantee that the source will
be available when 6.2.1 is. GPL, it’s not just a good idea, it’s the law.

thanks kris!
from the old posts, your gdb port is a hack and there are talks that
you will do it in the “right” way.
is this new port still a hack?

Not at all. We’ve cleaned things up substantially and are making much more
use of the existing, platform independent code in gdb. It’s not going to be
perfect for 6.2.1 but we’ve certainly got it clean enough now that we can
start looking towards getting our changes rolled into the GNU tree.
Interestingly, it was the IDE that drove a lot of the work. We needed the
enhanced mi (machine interface) support available in 5.2.1 so the priority
of the cleanup got bumped which gave us the time to do it right.

cheers,

Kris
