crossdevelopment security

We just received our Qnx 6.2 professional edition and I started to play with
the IDE hosted in my windows computer. It is very nice but I am a little
puzzled with the way the conection with the target is done; I mean, I have
started the qconn command in the target. configured the stuff in the windows
hosted IDE (tcp/ip) and go!, it works great, compiles and runs nicely the
executable in the target…but, all this is done without any
authentification, no passwords, no ssh, nothing… any explanation? I am
sorry if this have been discused before.

Nope, no authentication etc. This is targeted for development systems.
It is expected it will be used behind a firewall on a protected network,
or in a completely isolated environment,
