Eep! Yes, I did. I forget where  It wasn’t a US site, tho
Ah! Here it is: ftp://ftp.inria.fr/network
I got rz and sz, but someone else told me to get zmtx and zmrx, but I
haven’t tried those I don’t think. If you can’t find them there, I also
have them on my website.

Hope this helps!

Thanks I got the same stuff over the weekend.

did you get it to work on RTP ?

I’m getting qtalk to invoke it but I always get ‘read : resource temporarily
unavailable’

If I call rz directly - it just sits there and never appears to read
anything.

Any clues?

http://staff.qnx.com/~cdm/repository.new/ has a package lrzsz, but it is
only for QNX 6.1. Once you have 6.1 you can install that package and
then just run qtalkz instead of qtalk and you will have a nice zmodem
transfer protocol all integrated with qtalk. Note that this is not really
supported but rather something I have done for my own use.

excellent thanks Chris. I’ll give it a go first thing tomorrow…

forgive my ignorance here but is 6.1 RTP + patch B or what ?

If I do uname -a on a RTP + patch B version it tells me that the OS is 6.00

If I try to download the lrzsz package from voyager - the package manager
starts up nicely but then tells me that all selected packages are already
installed on my system.

I’m obviously missing something here…

The rig that i need to use this on has RTP (patch A) on it.

I’m at the stage of demonstrating stuff to the customer at the moment and
entering a formal testing stage so for the time being I need to stick with
this version.

Am I right in thinking that this version of qtalk won’t work with the
version of OS that i’m running.

If so its a shame as I really need to be able to download code serially
using zmodem. Could I rebuild the source on my machine or is it not that
simple (or available)…

Nope. You are talking about a 6.0 level (PatchA/B/C). I am talking about the
yet unreleased 6.1 level.

Deadly simple. I mean, that is all I did. I would even build a 6.0
package but I don’t have any 6.0 machines anymore. If you go onto
www.freshmeat.net and do a search you will find lrzsz without too much
trouble and it built without modifications. That qtalkz is a script I
wrote which does the following:

#!/bin/sh
qtalk -o other_se=ztx -o other_re=zrx -t other $*

and then ztx and zrx are also scripts which look like…

—(ztx)
#!/bin/sh
lsz $FILENAME < $MODEM > $MODEM

—(zrx)
#!/bin/sh
lrz < $MODEM > $MODEM

That should be enough to get you going.

Chris…

Release 6.1.

I have a bunch of issues waiting to be solved. I have not posted them
because I have the feeling (and in some cases the assurance) that the
6.1 will take care of most of them (such as the limit on a build file).
I am giving a demo in July 15 and a second one in August 20ish, and I
would like to have solved most of all those issues. The cut-off day for
no more code modification is fast approaching for me… :frowning:

Regards…

Miguel.

Ok - got qtalk spawning rz ok but I never seem to receive a file. I know
that the two ends are physically connected and the correct baud etc as I can
type stuff in hyperterminal on a windows machine and see it appear in the
qtalk box on the RTP machine. But when I try to send a file using ZModem
from windows it times out and Rz then appears to go into some sort of
timeout mode just printing 'C’s.

Anyone know what the gibberish is that rz prints out and even better how to
decipher it???

How about the reverse? If you type on the QNX qtalk, do you see the letters
appear on the Hyperterminal screen? A two-way link is required for sz/rz
because it must send back ACK/NACK from rz to sz.

yep - both ways work fine.

Just tried again and on receive of a file i get " read: (resource
temporarily unavailable)."
