SH4 experiences anyone?

Hi together,

a customer of ours just started a new project (a small embedded
controller for manufacturing devices). QNX 6 / Neutrino definitely is
an Option for the OS (currently amongst Linux/RTAI and OS/9). The
preferred hardware platform is a Hitachi SH-4 (SH7750) Board for which
there’s currently no BSP available (in contrast to the other two OSses
mentioned which are offered by the board manufacturer).

So has anybody already practical experiences with one of the supported
SH-4 boards and “real-world” applications? Any good (or bad) news
whether it will be worth ordering a BSP at QSSL (or in our case,
QSSG)?

TIA & greetings,
Edelhard

well, the customer already knows about those two currently supported
Boards. Unfortunately he needs a CAN interface onboard which both of
them don’t have, but the one our customer has in mind. Therefore he
will have to order a BSP at QSSL — in the case he chooses QNX 6. So
my question was to get some feedback on real working applications with
QNX 6, just to make (him) sure that it is the right way to go…
