I daily use fs-cifs for about 2 weeks to make backups of some qrtp
directories to a NT server and I find it extremely unstable.
My backup consists of 12 files for a total of 700 Mb.
On about 15 automatic backups (cron job), only 2 ended successfully. All
others were restarted by hand after having restarted fs-cifs.
I don’t know what happens to fs-cifs, I had a core dump this morning,
not sure it’s allways the case.
It seems that a problem occurs at the beginning (maybe stat!?) or the at
end of a copy. I don’t think it can happen something wrong during a copy.
regards,
Alain
Hello Alain,
There have been some problem reports entered on fs-cifs that discuss the same behaviour for our developers to look at.

Dave B.
