IPL and prometheus board...

Hi…

I wonder if any one has been successful with the installation of a QNX
IPL on a Prometheus board? I just got one, and I am about to dive into
the IPL pool of challenges. We want to write a custom IPL such that the
board boots in less than 5 seconds. Any ideas out there?

Tanks.

Best Regards…

Miguel.

How is this effort progressing?

Hi Lawrence…

Actually, first I had to get the board to boot normally, with the
existing bios. As it turns out, when using the Prmetheus with the Aster
IDE flash system, you must tell the system to be a hd0t77 partition. If
you tell it to be a t79 partition, it will not boot. I wonder why is
this the case, but…

With regard to the < 5 sec boot, I have been on travel, and I have not
had time to do that yet. I will be another week before I do that. I’ll
post my results and the know-how then.

I am thinking that perhaps we should post those tricks somewhere in one
of the repositories.

Regards…

Miguel.
