when you hit ctrl-alt-h on a work like io-net, helpviewer goes and look for
io, not io-net

Not if you select io-net first, right?
It’s a pterm thing: if you hit ctrl-alt-h when nothing is selected,
pterm selects the word the cursor is on, and pterm’s interpretation of
“io-net” is that it’s two words with a minus sign between them.
Pterm’s understanding of what constitutes a word is inspired by C rather
than by ksh, and is older than our habit of putting ‘-’ in command
names…

Ah.
Of course.

Probably, “There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch” – but I think the
original quote/phrase is, actually, “TANSTAAFL”, “There Ain’t No Such…”,
using the (colloquial) double-negative for emphasis.

Ah.
Of course.
Usenet-gotta love it.
Ironic how a nice to have feature can explode into unforeseen ramifications?
If you are not going to “fix” this, I will understand…

That’s good, because I don’t consider it broken…
