mozilla firebird/thunderbird packages

Hi…
For those using Mozilla under QNX, there is an update in the 3-rd party
repository ( http://www.qnx.com/developer/download/contrib ).
Packages for the Firebird browser and the Thunderbird mail have been added,
plus an update to mozilla 1.5.

Mozilla now includes a spellchecker for MailNews and Composer - wow.

Some changes, specific to the qnx/photon platform:

  • the controls in the forms are drawn correctly now ( they used to have
    heavy ( 3 pixels ) borders )
  • the alpha channel is somewhat working. There are problems when the alpha
maps do not fit into the draw buffer ( large images ). This will be
fortunatelly addressed in photon 6.3 that allows placing them in shared
    memory.
  • the themes should now work correctly ( with the above amendment ).
  • the sound files indicated in the preferences should now be
    played/previewed correctly.
  • when installing these packages in top of mozilla 0.9.8 or 1.0, they should
    install ok.

I would like to say thank you for your work in doing this; but without
trying to sound whiney I’d also like to mention that there doesn’t appear
to be anything but Mozilla 1.4 at that site.

It seems it takes a bit of time for the person that manages the
repository to post them, but the packages should be there soon.
They are also posted at http://www.qnxzone.com see the similar article on
that site.

Yep - it isn’t up yet. I have a mirror @ http://qnxzone.com/~cdm/mozilla/.

Yes, I don’t update the same day I get a new package…I try it out a
bit first, and I usually have a batch of packages to do when I do an
update. I’ve also found that it’s best to wait a little while anyways,
since half the time there is a new version of the package a few days
later

Anyhow, there should be an update later today (it’s been uploaded to the
stage area, it should go live soon, end of today or tomorrow).

Changelog is attached.

Are you sure about that URL?

It doesn’t work for me.

That’s the correct address for the webpage (just tried it)

To find it in the installer click on the QNX Online bookmark (may have
to click it twice…there is a bug in the installer)

I have tried several times to download Mozilla 1.5 . Each time it
dies just about half way through the download with an error.

I have over 3 GB available.
And the entire drive checks out OK with dcheck.

Next guess?
