I used nedit a couple of years ago and remember that it had
syntax coloring. Does this version have it? I can’t find
where to turn it on.

Hmm, did you try to turn on ‘highlight syntax’ in the menu? If you want
it to do that by default, do to ‘default settings’, turn on ‘hightlight
syntax’ there, then ‘save defaults’.

I see the problem now, I was using the version of nedit
from qnxstart.com (nedit-4.0.1-qnxnto-bin.tar.gz) which
doesn’t seem to have syntax highlighting.

I just discovered your site (http://sourceforge.net/projects/qnxfree)
and got nedit from there (nedit-5.1.1-i386-nto-static.tgz).

It’s my favorite editor. Thanks for porting it!

Yep - Splendid indeed - I nabbed the binary from your website - ta muchly.

Just one thing - The keyboard is setup for US english by the look of it and
I want UK english. I’ve changed it in localization and its sorted it out in
the photon editor etc but it doesn’t fix it for nedit. (tried opening new
instance of nedit after fiddling with the localization settings).

Any clues? Is there something I need to tweak in nedit?

Cheers

Jim

I bet Xphoton does not care about localization settings of Photon
Nor does it have any config file, so your only chance are command line
options…
Gary, any comments?

You are right Igor. The only way to change the keymap
for Xphoton is to feed the map you want through xmodmap.
This is standard X stuff, the server only uses 1 byte
internally for the key code, the translation is done
on the client side.

I’ll see if there is a way to have it automatically
mirror the Photon setting. In the meantime, you’d have to
compile xmodmap; get the output of the current map;
and modify it for your keyboard…

Admittedly, not the most elegant solution…
