QNX RTP --- publicity

Hi all,

I think QNX RTP is only 5% present in Finland :frowning:

And this 5% I think are the customers which have already QNX4. Big
companies.
The rest of 95% of people they don’t know what is it, what company is
producing it and so on. I spoke with some guys in a book store in
Helsinki asking about this. they simple said:

-We are happy with Linux.

-There are jobs in Linux. How about RTP ? Can I start tomorrow looking
for a job ?

-We don’t want to learn a new OS even if RTP is designed for Real-Time
env. We have RTLinux.

So clear, there are no jobs, no publicity about it (even QSSL is
providing for free now RTP, people still don’t know about www.qnx.com)
it seems
hard for RTP to get active in our life. I never heard about jobs related
with QNX in Finland at all for instance when Solaris and Linux are
everywhere.

A big bonus having more users would be:

-a large number of drivers, hardware machines.
-good tested software
-application, ports

And for this we should make more publicity and more support of RTP
everywhere.

How the picture looks like in Canada or US ?

Aren’t you conducting your poll more or less in Linus Torvalds home turf?

Poll … !? My poll nope and I don’t vote for Linux. Belive me.
I am using Solaris and I will vote with them. Linus’s home is here true,
but he is working in US anyway.
the idea was to give a bit more lift to RTP …

that’s all

ok, get my vote too - IMHO Finland is out QSSL “network coverage”… and
that is unfair :frowning:
